Pirangi: his name comes from the Tupi language and means 'Rio de Piranhas' (Piranha Fish River)Parachos is the local name given to the natural pools formed by the coral reefs and located around 1 km of the shore.
The natural pools appear at the low tide.
To reach these 'Parrachos' there is a boat company called Marina Badauê, placed just beside the cashew tree, that is doing excursions to visit them.
The trips have duration of two hours and they furnish masks to admire the local fauna.
During the summer season from December till February, it is possible to come for full moon nights, with animation and dance on the boat.
The mask supplies allows to admire fishes and corals. You don’t need to be a swimmer to participate to this excursion cause you just walk on the reefs. For prices and schedules see excursions.

The pratice of kayak, wind surfing or kite surfing,is possible due the very calm water and many windy days along the year. The village of Pirangi is transformed into sea resort during the summer period and the carnival, with the organization of numerous concerts.
