Pirangi possesses the biggest cashew tree of the world.

The cashew tree of Pirangi became one of the biggest attractions of the region of Natal.

Planted in 1888 by a fisherman, a genetic anomaly on the nut gave the origin to the tree.

It has a circumference of around 8500 square meters, which makes more than 70 normal cashew trees. Gives fruits from November to February.

It is mentioned on Guiness Book of the Records since 1981 as the biggest cashew tree in the world.
