The currency of Brazil is real (R$).
The used coins go of 5 cents (centavos) to 1 Real.
The used notes are in cuts of 1 Real to 100 Reais.
There is no limitation on use of foreign currencies, traveler checks and other types of banking payment.
Foreign exchange offices are arranged in the tourist places, as Ponta Negra, Natal downtown, some big shopping malls and in Pipa.
The payment in Euro or Dollars is rarely accepted, except in case of real-estate purchases...
The credit cards Visa and Master card are almost accepted everywhere in the state. However the services arranging small structures, as certain restaurants situated outside the big tourist centers do not accept credit cards.
European citizens do not need a visa to come in. It is just necessary to have a passport valid for of at least six months.

Airport tax
The airport tax is included in the price of the plane ticket for some companies, but some charter flights charge that fee at the check in.
Importation of goods and food
Except for purchases in Duty-Free, the introduction of food and drinks is forbidden on the arrival in Natal. The customs reserve the right to seize and to destroy your products.
