Situated in a mountainous region, at a height of 575 meters, the village of Cerro Corá has a population of over a little 11000 inhabitants. The city was created at the time of the development of the region with the breeding of cattle and the cotton.

The city possesses a lake, “Açude Eloy” from where you can admire the magnificent sunset.
Historical attraction: abandoned tunnels of the railroad situated at a distance of 10 to 25 km of the city. Access by vehicle.
It was built in 1921 by Europeans with the purpose of transporting the cotton produced at the Seridó, the project was abandoned due to the difficulties of digging the mountains of 'Serra de Santana'.
