Beach, which´s name in the Tupi Indian language means 'where there is water to drink' is a big and beautiful beach, much appreciated by the vacationers and occupied by numerous and beautiful beach houses.
The beach´s north is occupied by a very beautiful strip of sand and a fringe of coconut palms rocked by the sweet sea breezes.
On the beach´s extension, giong north, can be found a attractive small creek “Prainha”, a small uninhabited paradise.
On the south part are concentrated several sea-side restaurants and a large number of fishermen's boats sheltered from the winds by a creek called 'Porto Mirim', which is partially covered in high tide.
The fisherman of Muriú are renowned for their specialty in catching lobsters.
Another attraction of Muriú, 1 km off of the coast, are the natural pools with corals formations. The most famous one being called “Buraco da velha”, an ideal place for the practicing snorkelling. In the high season, the beach offers boat, jet-skiand 'ammered-boat' rental services.
