The beaches of the Natal center are situated between 'Areia Preta' beach (Black Sand Beach) and the Fortress :
. Praia dos Artistas: Its name is due to the artistical manifestations of the 20s and 30, then 70, when the artists of the national cinema stayed there.
. Praia do Meio: The Midle Beach because it is situated between the two other beaches.
. Praia do Forte : Due to the presence of the Fortress of the Three Wise Kings. ( Fortaleza dos Reis Magos)
. Praia 'dos Artistas'.
Part of the beach is surrounded by reefs and big rocks. There are sites with strong waves good for surfing. Good nightlife due to the presence of many bars, restaurants and night clubs (discos).
Praia do Meio:
. It contains reefs also and certain parts are misadvised for bathing because of strong currents.
. Praia do Forte:
Beach in quiet and little deep waters, protected of the waves by reefs, convenient to the bathing particularly for children. It is mainly frequented the weekend by the local population.
The sidewalk along the beaches is ideal for walking, what will allow to admire among others the statue of the goddess yémanja.
You will find some recent hotels there. Abandoned in the 90s for the benefit of Ponta Negra, it seems that this place will take back a tourist activity thanks to the presence of the new bridge on Potengi River.
